RedBush™  - Red Bush Tea

Red Bush - Rooibos is a shrub approx. 3’ high  It is indigenous to the Cape Town region of South Africa. The leaves of the Red Bush are narrow and needle like. Red Bush was first discovered by Khoikhoi bush men over 300 years ago. They cut Red Bush with a sickle, bruised it with rocks and fermented it in the sun. The same process takes place today with the addition of modernized equipment and tools. Most of the Red Bush  is cut by hand. Cutting machines are then used to make Red Bush uniform in size. Red Bush is left to ferment and dry on heaps with help from the South African wind and sun. All Red Bush Tea is homogenized

Red bush is part of the richest biome in the World. Red Bush is botanically  related to the “Fynbos” plants which consist of over  300 species
